Photos from my week

A bit of sunshine here and there but mostly more rain *sigh* - this has got to be the wettest winter we’ve had for a long time:

View of the farmland around our house

At least with being inside so much I used the time to de-clutter my younger son’s bedroom - it looks alot tidier than it was.

I’ve got a bit of work to do in the master bedroom but it’s relatively tidy.

How’s your week been going so far?

The kind blogger award

Thank you to Dawn who gave me this lovely award.

Ok I get to nominate some other people for this too so here I go:

I choose ALL my bloggy friends - you’re all worthy! :-)

Oh…and remember the little girl who was kidnapped here recently? She was found and apparently it was a business associate of her parents. Anyway she was unharmed and safe in the end. I can’t imagine what her parents went through - I’d probably freak, wouldn’t you?

Well, there’s been alot happening here in my household. I mentioned a while ago that my dh was getting fed up with his job and that he was thinking about applying for the police force here. We researched all the pros and cons of it and unfortunately while he’d be in training he’d be getting only $35,000 a year which is really not alot here in NZ, it’s way less than what he gets now. Not much of an incentive considering our country is short of police.

We happened to be talking to some friends of ours, one of which is a supervisor at the local dairy factory and  he mentioned there were a couple of jobs going there so we hopped online, went to the website, applied and sent in his cv. He got a call a few days later, had a verbal interview over the phone and yesterday he had a formal intervew with two of the bosses there - it sounds very positive! The great things are that he wouldn’t be on a salary, he’d be paid for every hour he works, he wouldn’t be in charge - no stress there, and if he did overtime he’d be paid for it plus there’s a great team of people there and he’d get loads of support.

I’ll keep you all posted!

Oh…and speaking of my dh. We’ve made a funny observation - this (on the right) is Beaker from The Muppets. We (me and the kids) think that he looks like my dh - even though he doesn’t have the bright red hair he does sort of resemble him!

Seek the Lord Sunday - Heaven

Seek the Lord Sunday this week is about Heaven.

What do you think Heaven is like?

There’s a song that’s a favourite of mine called “Thank You” by Ray Boltz and the words go something like this:

“I dreamed I went to heaven, and you were there with me;
We walked upon the streets of gold, beside the crystal sea.”

That’s exactly it for me; streets of gold, crystal seas, beautiful gardens, blue skies and Jesus waiting for his people.

You often hear stories of people who have had near death experiences and in some cases they describe a place filled with happiness, pretty flowers, mountains and an overwhelming feeling of love. I guess all that’s true.  You never know when you’re gonna go so make sure you’re going to end up in heaven.

Here’s the song so you can hear it for yourself:

btw thank you to Daiquiri for hosting this each week :-)

The 7 songs meme

Bella has tagged me for this meme - here’s how it goes:

List 7 songs you are into right now. No matter what genre, whether they have words, or even if they are not any good, but they must be songs you are really into right now, shaping your summer, winter.

Post these instructions in your blog along with your 7 songs.

Then tag 7 other people to see what they’re listening to.

Here’s mine:
1. Take me there - Watermark
2. Water - Kristy Starling
3. Wide wide world - Erin O’Donnell
4. One Way - Hillsongs United (gotta love this Christian band from Australia)
5. Dive - Steven Curtis Chapman
6. I am - Jill Phillips
7. Free - Ginny Owens

Ok, that’s me done - I’m really into Christian music at the moment - it just really brightens my day.
I’m now tagging:
Fi - Kiwifruit
Leann - The Good Neighbours
Jessica - Jessica’s World
Jen - My 3 boys and I

Have fun :-)
